UH-60 Black Hawk

The US military's primary utility helicopter for over 40 years. From medevac to special operations, the Black Hawk does everything.
History
The Sikorsky UH-60 Black Hawk was designed to replace the UH-1 Huey as the US Army's primary utility tactical transport helicopter. It first flew in 1974 and entered service in 1979, offering dramatically improved performance, survivability, and cargo capacity. The Black Hawk gained worldwide fame during the 1993 Battle of Mogadishu, immortalized in the book and film Black Hawk Down. It serves as the backbone of US Army aviation and has been adapted into medevac (HH-60), Navy (SH-60 Seahawk), Air Force (HH-60 Pave Hawk), and VIP transport (VH-60 White Hawk) variants. Over 4,000 have been built for 30 nations.
